Biography
Blanche Lorraine Froelich was born in Hawaii and raised on the Central Plains of the Dakotas. She received a B.A. in Visual Arts from Bowdoin College and M.A. in Multi-Categorical Special Education from the University of South Dakota.
Using a range of media, her work explores the ecstasies and agonies of entropy, embodiment, and non-duality in the human experience. Through juxtapositions of solemnity and exuberance, sacredness and profanity, and artificial and organic materials, her work questions what it means to be alive, and challenges the uniqueness of humanness within the natural world.
Blanche currently lives and works in South Dakota.
